Morning coffee with Birds in the background

Try a small outdoor soundtrack while the kettle boils, without turning your morning into another routine to manage.

Before you open everything else

Some mornings begin with a dozen tabs before the coffee is ready. If you have a few minutes, leave those tabs closed and try Birds quietly while you make your drink. You don’t need to sit still or call it a practice. Let it be something pleasant in an otherwise ordinary morning.

Listen through a few calls before moving the slider. The first sound you hear might be more noticeable than the rest. If the calls feel too busy while you are half awake, turn them down or try Forest instead. Your morning doesn’t have to sound cheerful on command.

Leave room for the kitchen

A spoon against a mug and the kettle bubbling are already part of the background. On a speaker, keep the added sound low enough to sit alongside them. You are making coffee, not trying to replace the kitchen with a recording of somewhere else.

If Birds feels a bit exposed, add a quiet layer of Wind. Compare that with Birds alone while you actually drink the coffee. Avoid spending so long building the mix that your drink goes cold; one or two sounds are plenty for this kind of moment.

Take the small version with you

When you move to your desk, see whether you still want the same background. Bird calls you enjoyed with breakfast might catch your attention during a call or while reading. Lower them, swap them out, or pause. You don’t owe the morning mix the rest of your day.

Save it in the main mixer if it becomes something you like returning to. A simple name such as “Coffee and birds” is enough. The settings stay in this browser, so keep a note if you want to recreate them on a different device.
