Pure Soundscapes guides
Build a forest atmosphere with room between the sounds
Use Forest, Birds, and a gentle background layer to create an outdoor atmosphere that leaves space for your attention.
Decide how detailed you want the background to feel
A forest-themed mix can be simple or full of noticeable events. Before selecting sounds, decide whether you want to listen closely to the atmosphere or have it accompany another activity. Those two uses can lead to very different balances even when the sound names stay the same.
Begin with Forest alone and give it time. Notice whether you enjoy its texture during the activity you chose. Do not assume that a forest image needs every available outdoor sound. Leaving some layers out makes it easier to hear what you actually enjoy.
Let Birds stay an accent
Add Birds at a lower level than the foundation and listen through more than one call. An isolated moment during setup is not enough to judge how a repeating layer will feel across a session. If you find yourself waiting for the next call, decide whether that is enjoyable or distracting for your current purpose.
Try Birds alone as a separate comparison. You might prefer a sparse selection to a layered forest atmosphere. There is no obligation to fill the soundscape, and removing a layer is often a more useful adjustment than adding another sound to cover it.
Choose a background with a clear role
Rain or Stream can give your forest mix a more continuous foundation. Pick one, bring it in quietly, and compare with your original Forest selection. When adjusting the balance, ask which layer you want to notice first. Keep the others lower rather than giving every sound equal prominence.
A useful experiment is to build two versions: Forest with quiet Birds, and Rain with quiet Forest. They use related sounds but place the emphasis differently. Save both in the main mixer with names that describe their leading layer so you can make the comparison later.
Use a forest picture without expecting an exact recording
In Gallery, choose a forest scene and customize the sounds offered for it. The photograph provides a visual setting; it is not a promise that the audio was captured at that location. You are creating a personal combination of a view and available sound layers.
Press Start when the selection is ready. Try the scene without visual movement before enabling Slow zoom. You can use fullscreen when you want fewer surrounding page elements. Closing the immersive view clears its sounds, while saving combinations in the main mixer keeps their settings locally for another visit.
