Pure Soundscapes guides
Make a rain soundscape without adding too many layers
Build a simple rain mix, compare a stream with thunder, and keep the background comfortable for your own listening session.
Give rain a moment on its own
Begin with Rain alone rather than opening several sound layers at once. Listen while doing the activity you actually have in mind: reading a page, writing a paragraph, or sitting away from your screen. A mix that seems pleasant while you are adjusting controls may feel busy once your attention returns to something else.
Start quietly and use the overall speaker control to find a comfortable level. Then leave it alone for a few minutes. If you keep reaching for the volume, pause and consider whether you want a quieter background or a different sound. A louder mix is not automatically a better fit.
Choose between movement and an occasional accent
Stream can add another flowing texture underneath Rain. Bring it in at a lower individual level and compare the result with Rain alone. If the two layers seem to compete, reduce Stream first. You can also remove it entirely; a single sound is a complete soundscape when it suits what you are doing.
Thunder creates a different experience because its noticeable moments can draw attention. Add it only if those changes are part of the atmosphere you want. Keep it quieter than Rain, listen through several moments, and decide whether you enjoy them during your activity rather than only during setup.
Match the picture to the atmosphere
For an immersive view, open Gallery and choose a scene whose available sounds fit your idea. Select its sound layers, adjust their levels, and press Start. The picture helps set the visual mood, but it does not turn the audio into a recording of that exact place. Treat the image and sounds as a combination you create.
Try the scene with Slow zoom turned off first. If you prefer a changing view, turn it on and compare. Fullscreen is useful when you want the picture to fill your display. Closing the immersive Gallery view clears its soundscape, so choose that action when you are finished listening.
Save the version you actually use
When working in the main mixer, save a useful Rain combination with a descriptive name such as “Rain with a quiet stream.” Keep a note of the sound names and levels if you want to recreate it elsewhere. Saved mixes belong to this browser and do not download the audio or move automatically to another device.
Revisit the mix on another day before adding more layers. Your preferred balance may change with the room, the activity, or your device. Use the overall volume for a balanced mix that is simply too loud, and individual sliders when one sound needs changing.
