A bit of nature in a city flat

You can enjoy Birds or Forest alongside traffic and neighbours without pretending your living room has become a remote cabin.

Let the city stay part of the room

A bus passing outside and a quiet bird layer can exist at the same time. You don’t need the room to sound convincingly rural before you can enjoy a little nature audio. Think of it as adding something you like to the setting you already have.

Try Birds quietly while sitting near a window, or Forest while watering your plants. Give it a few minutes during that ordinary activity. If the real outdoor sounds are pleasant today, you might prefer opening the window and leaving the mixer paused.

Keep the contrast gentle

If bird calls feel too prominent against the street outside, lower them or try Rain instead. Don’t keep adding layers to prove that the room can become a different place. A single background you like is enough.

On speakers, check the volume from another part of the room and consider the people nearby. A sound that feels quiet next to your laptop may carry farther than you expect. It should be easy to talk over and easy to switch off.

Use the image as an image

Gallery offers a nature view when you want one, even if your actual window looks onto another building. Choose the scene because you enjoy the photograph. The sounds are layers you select, not a claim that you are hearing that exact landscape.

Start the scene with its available sounds and compare the still view with Slow zoom. Fullscreen is there if you want the image to fill the display. Close it when you return to the room’s other activities, and let the city and the plants have the background again.
